Objective

The objective of the level 2 leadership forum is to develop leadership skills of talented and experiences rural professionals within our membership, with a view to them being more effective in their roles and taking on leadership and governance roles in agribusiness and within the primary industries.

For experienced professionals - two key shifts are critical – the first is the ability to leverage team effectiveness (not just be skilled at 1:1) and the second is to be strategic (to see how the context is changing and what this will mean for an innovative response from the organisation).

The intention of the level 2 forum is to equip participants with the following skills:

identifying the heart of effective leadership and how to develop leadership behaviours and skills
an assessment of their relative strengths and areas to develop, including a targeted action plan for their development
understanding the levers for high performance in teams
building their ability to think strategically so they can assist their organisation to maximise their future impact
understanding common pitfalls where strategy fails to take hold and what can be done to rectify this

Programme Content & Information

The Leadership Development Forum Level 2 will be held over two days. The forum is aimed at rural professionals who have either completed level 1 or have worked within the industry for 10 plus years.

1:15pm	Strategic leadership to be strategic is... getting pas the myths going behind strategic documents to "where to play" choices
2:15pm	Peer feedback on your strategic choices peer feedback on "where to play" strategic template completed as pre work
3:00pm	Afternoon tea
3:30pm	Initial actions based on your strategic choices reflection on initial action plan peer feedback and commitment to next steps
4:15pm	Closing round - 1 min each
